dHCS fellowship

Since 2003, the Kunstverein für die Rheinlande und Westfalen has been awarding studio fellowships to emerging artists based in Düsseldorf in collaboration with the company de Haen-Carstanjen & Söhne. Every second year, up to six fellowships are being awarded to artists who have recently graduated from the Art Academy Düsseldorf.

The studio spaces are located in the former artist’s residence of the German sculptor Ewald Mataré in Meerbusch-Büderich. On the website of the fellowship, you can find more information about the remarkable architecture and history of the house.

The current 12th dHCS studio fellowships run from January 1, 2026 to December 31, 2027 and have been awarded to the artists Andria Dolidze & Keta Gavasheli, Mari Hoelkeskamp, Amelie Karweick, Max Sandfort, and Haiqing Wang.

The dHCS fellowships are made possible with the support of Haen-Carstanjen & Söhne. Since 2026, the dHCS fellows receive additional financial support from the Stiftung Zukunft NRW.
