Membership

Founded in 1829, the Kunstverein für die Rheinlande und Westfalen in Düsseldorf is one of Germany’s oldest institutions of its kind. As an independent institution aimed at supporting the production, presentation, and mediation of contemporary art, it regularly showcases current international positions and commissions artists to develop new and site-specific works.

With its wide range of activities and multifaceted exhibition program, alongside lectures, artist talks, screenings, art trips, symposia, and publications, the Kunstverein is a vibrant space for contemporary art in Düsseldorf. Through your membership, you make a vital contribution to the realization of its ambitious program while also strengthening the Kunstverein’s commitment as a non-profit space for critical engagement with contemporary art.

•Invitations and booklets for our exhibitions and events, by post or email
•Free guided tours of our exhibitions by the curatorial team
•Free entry to the Kunstverein für die Rheinlande und Westfalen, the Kunsthalle Düsseldorf, and all Kunstvereins in the ADKV (Arbeitsgemeinschaft deutscher Kunstvereine)
•Invitations to events in our extensive membership program (studio visits, group tours and visits to exhibitions and performances, art trips in Germany and abroad, and more)
•The opportunity to purchase limited-edition artworks (“Jahresgaben”) by established and emerging artists at a discounted price. The Jahresgaben editions are produced exclusively for the Kunstverein für die Rheinlande und Westfalen by artists each year.

Please note that membership fees are charged on an annual calendar basis. Should you join during the course of the year, the full annual fee will still apply. Your membership renews automatically on January 1 for the respective calendar year.
