Acclaimed choreographer Alexandra Pirici is going to develop a new work for Impulse Theater Festival 2017 in coproduction with FFT Düsseldorf and in cooperation with Kunsthalle Düsseldorf and Kunstverein für die Rheinlande und Westfalen. A continuous performative action touching upon questions of art as a space for radical democracy, the power of political gestures in- and outside of art spaces, and art’s potential for resistance. It will be closely linked to Düsseldorf’s extensive history as a place for political art.

Mere weeks before the festival art historian Claire Bishop (‘Artificial Hells’) and the choreographer herself enter into a conversation about Pirici’s previous work, the performative potential of museums and art galleries as well as the love hate relationship of politics and arts.
