Marcel Broodthaers (1924–1976) has been one of the greatest inspirations to the following generation of artists. This book shows current work by internationally renowned artists, in which loose connections to particular Broodthaers motifs are not in the foreground, but rather the forward projection of those ideas and questions, often understood as homage, which make Broodthaers’ work still appear alive and topical today.

The publication is published on the occasion of the exhibition Von realer Gegenwart. Marcel Broodthaers heute at the Kunstverein für die Rheinlande und Westfalen and the Kunsthalle, Düsseldorf (September 11, 2010 – January 16, 2011). With a preface by Gregor Jansen and Vanessa Joan Müller, texts by Elodie Evers, Gregor Jansen, Vanessa Joan Müller and interviews with the participating artists.
