Tim Berresheim. Throwing Signs 3D (2003–2015)
Tim Berresheim (b. 1975) lives and works in Aachen as an artist and musician, while running his own label and project space. In his work, which is produced with tools of digital image generation, he deals with effects of digital technologies on visual culture, living and working conditions and modes of perception and recognition. The catalog shows in volume one the making-of and in volume two the complex technical and iconographical architecture of his work so far. Both catalogs are completed by essays of philosophical, art historical and media theoretical perspectives and a glossary that defines the technical terms of digital image generation and its medial presentation.
The publication is published on the occasion of the exhibitions Tim Berresheim. 2003–2015, curated by Esther Boehle at the Ludwig Forum für Internationale Kunst, Aachen (October 25, 2015 – January 10, 2016) and Auge und Welt, curated by Hans-Jürgen Hafner at the Kunstverein für die Rheinlande und Westfalen, Düsseldorf (September 20, 2014 – January 11, 2015). With texts by Esther Boehle, Wolfgang Brauneis, Hans-Jürgen Hafner, Sebastian Pick and Andrea Bönsch. Translation by Antje Nölle and John Southard.
