The Stadtwerke Düsseldorf kindly offer our audiences a free visit to the Kunstverein and the Kunsthalle on the last Thursday every month between 6 and 9 pm.
On the occasion of International Museum Day, admission is free on Sunday, May 18, 2025.

Accessibility
Due to its architectural conditions, the Kunstverein für die Rheinlande und Westfalen is not fully accessible. With the upcoming renovation of the Kunsthalle building in 2026, the City of Düsseldorf will remove the structural barriers and makes sure to facilitate inclusive, equal, and autonomous participation of all people according the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
To assist you with your visit, we have therefore compiled the following information:
The Kunstverein für die Rheinlande und Westfalen is located on the 2nd floor of the Kunsthalle Düsseldorf. The ticket desk and museum attendants of the Kunsthalle can be reached by phone at +49 (0)211 54 23 77 25 during opening hours.
People with wheelchairs or strollers are kindly ask to call the staff at the Kunsthalle counter for assistance by using a doorbell located to the left of the entrance at the base of the stairs. They will then be guided to the elevator at the back of the building. This elevator provides access to the exhibition space of the Kunstverein für die Rheinlande und Westfalen on the second floor. The staff is also there to assist visitors in changing floors. The exhibition space itself does not include steps.
During your visit, a wheelchair and foldable chairs are available for use inside the building. Benches are also available in the stairwell.
Disabled parking spaces are located near the Kunsthalle Düsseldorf on Grabbeplatz and on Ratinger Straße. The sidewalks which lead to the Kunsthalle building are paved with cobblestones.
A toilet for people with disabilities is located on the second floor of the Kunsthalle Düsseldorf which can be reached by visitors in wheelchairs via a short but steep ramp. The door can be difficult to open, and the assistance of a staff member is required.
