Fang Xiu Ying, 67 years old and suffering from Alzheimer's disease, becomes increasingly aware that her life is coming to an end. The film Mrs. Fang (2018) is set in a remote village in southern China and depicts the last days of a woman coming to terms with her approaching death. At the same time, it sheds light on the lives of the people around her – her relatives and neighbors who gather to bid her a final farewell. The camera accompanies her in long, lingering shots that capture the events around her bed.

The screening is a collaboration between the Filmwerkstatt Düsseldorf and the Kunstverein für die Rheinlande und Westfalen, Düsseldorf.
