(number of) weeks later

(number of) weeks later is a series of events by the Kunstverein für die Rheinlande und Westfalen in Düsseldorf, programmed to take place throughout the year. The format comprises various interdisciplinary modes of presentation and (dis)play, including screenings, performances, and concerts both in the foyer of the Kunstverein and at other local venues. The series, which is centered on time-based media and performative practices, will present artistic works that can be experienced in collective ways and that approach their duration as a material dimension, unfolding according to the temporal logic of their respective medium. In their temporal intensity and rhythm-setting character, the events take shape and acquire meaning through a temporary gathering at the intersections of various disciplines, framed not only by the venue but also by a distinct temporality: Each evening will be linked—the respective _(number of) weeks later_—to a network of preceding and subsequent events. The variable and time unit of the title highlight the series’ temporal structure and potential intonations. The format is defined by its rhythm and will express its content in a new form with each edition.

As a succeeding project to Another Eye (2022–2024) and Elbow Room (2019–2021), (number of) weeks later opens up space for presenting selected works by students and graduates of the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, as well as artists connected to the city in various ways. In addition, the series will occasionally host emerging international artists, giving them the opportunity to introduce their practice to a local audience.

(number of) weeks later is conceived by Clara Maria Blasius in collaboration with Kathrin Bentele. The series is supported by The Gingko Foundation.
